Hi! I’m Mary Warman from Ohio (go Buckeyes), lived in Texas (go Cowboys) and transplanted to North Carolina (go Panthers!). Can you tell I am a football fan? 🙂 I also love to make bags, purses and wallets! My mother taught me to sew clothes on an old Singer treadle sewing machine. As an adult I branched out from just making clothes, into dolls, quilts, home decor, upholstery and now purses, bags and wallets.
PricklePoppy came about as a result of my job abruptly ending in the fall of 2016. Being of a “certain age” and my husband (Bob) retired, we decided to see if I could supplement my husband’s fixed income by working from home and doing what I love. After “remodeling” our screened back porch, I now have a beautiful, bright sewing studio.
Of course, I get to share it with the VP of PricklePoppy (Bob). He is also the CEO, CFO, VP of Sales and Marketing, VP of Product Retention (“No… you cannot keep this one!”) 🙂 and he entertains me with his classical guitar playing while I sew!
Sometimes when I make a prototype of a new pattern it might be something that is not up to the high quality standard of the VP of Quality Control…those I sell at a discounted price in the Prototype/Clearance Sale Category.
Thanks for stopping by!
